In an article published by the Washington Post, Schwarzenneger wrote:

"As an American, I’m incredibly concerned about what happened in Indiana this week and the threat of similar laws being passed in other states. As a Republican, I’m furious.

"...divisive laws like the one Indiana passed aren’t just bad for the country, they’re also bad for our party."

Schwarzenegger also took to task several of his GOP party mates for being divisive and not prioritizing issues such as deteriorating infrastructure, traffic and pollution that would improve the lives of Americans. This lack of focus is what is causing the Republican Party to lose touch with the voters especially from the younger generations.

"If we want our party to grow and last, we must be focused on real solutions to problems Americans are facing."

The former governor also cited overwhelming opposition on and offline against Indiana's religious freedom law and other similar measures to be adopted by other states as well as big businesses such as Apple, Walmart, the NBA and NASCAR.

Mr. Schwarzenegger urged his Republicans to learn from the Indiana experience and stop fighting for laws that fly in the face of equality and freedom.
