After four months of strict quarantine procedures for foreign visitors North Korea eased up travel restrictions for tourists visiting the isolated country. ABC News reported that travel ban was lifted on Monday, March 2 and that bookings are starting to normalize.
Travelers coming from countries hit by the Ebola virus and neighboring regions are still subject to strict health and quarantine procedures.

In recent years North Korea has been trying to attract tourists to earn needed foreign currency to keep its laggard economy moving.
Travel restrictions due to the Ebola virus threat has caused the country to miss out on a lot of big events to showcase its potential. The much-awaited Pyongyang Marathon was cancelled because Ebola virus concerns. Last year, the country opened "Masik Pass" dubbed as "the most exotic ski resort on Earth."

The easing of restrictions comes at a time when North Korea is engaged in another heated word exchange with the United States and its staunch ally, South Korea who are now currently conducting its yearly military exercises.
The secretive communist state recently fired two short range missiles off its eastern coast to express its anger over the "provocative actions" by Washington and Seoul. Japan, South Korea and the U.S. have condemned the missiles launches.
